The Early Days

Despite an obvious passion for design and engineering, fiscal ambition lured me towards commerce, advertising and marketing.

But if the opportunity arose, and someone was brave enough to let me loose on their house - I practiced.

The brief here was simple - install a garage loft ladder. Things got out of hand. So pleased was I having remembered Pythagorus’ Theorem that I set-about making a retracting staircase that when not is use disappeared between the joists above. A nautical inspired pulley system and the wood’s varnish matched the client’s sailboat, just out of shot. Complete overkill but the stairs are still in use two decades later

Client brief - make a shoe volcano disappear. This time use offcuts, only a morning and leave the trigonometry alone.
